Who would have thought there was so much to learn about recycling?? As an American living in the UK, it’s exciting to see all the ways that recycling is more ingrained in the culture and this podcast is helping me get up to speed on a lot of the finer points. Plus these guys are goofy (and not in a “when are you going to actually start taking about the topic” type of way); I love it.

I’ve been a lifelong recycler, but that hasn’t been without its fair share of naysayers and doom theorists. James and Robbie are demystifying the other side of the recycling bins we use, explaining how and why our efforts are making a difference. Sad I’ll never be able to match Ethel’s review. Might mark a star down for that… (won’t really)

On holiday, only keeping track of which day of the week it is so I know when a new episode of Talking Rubbish has dropped! Great podcast guys, keep up the great work.

Such an accessible episode with inexpensive, easy to implement, tried and tested ideas to combat the issues we face in our block - contamination and dumping. Have forwarded to residents and manager. I’ve repeatedly asked for signage so I love the 4 clear communication points in the evidence based report.

There are some things that I'll happily recommend to everyone I meet, safe in the knowledge that all sane people will love it. This is not one of those things. Unashamedly nerdy, dives into the detail of a supremely unglamorous everyday industry. James makes terrible dad jokes and Robbie has a laugh that will make some people want to rip their ears off. But I love it, and I've even grown an affection for Robbie's laugh. If anything, I wish it was a bit more nerdy and had more scientific rigour, but for now it brightens up my week when it drops on my podcast feed. If you have an interest in what happens to your rubbish once you've put the bins out and a gap in your life for the scintillatingly dull, then give this a go. You might love it too.

This pod cast has to be compulsory listening for anyone in the packaging and packaging waste industry. James and Robbie steer us through the frustrating and complex issues with humour and above all , facts. Keep it up guys

They manage to keep the subject matter interesting even though it’s about rubbish! A firm fave of mine. And Bristol based too!

I’m only scratching the surface on this podcast’s episodes and I’ve already learned so much. James and Robbie and engaging and endearing and talking about issues that I’m so glad to know someone else cares about as much as me—but I wouldn’t know how to start getting to the bottom of so many of my recycling questions and these guys are here digging into the data and nuances for me! It’s fantastic stuff and comes with a community that helps connect us all more in this journey to make the world a little better.

This is a firm favourite podcast now. I work in the industry and every episode provides talking points for the working week!

Obviously they talk ABOUT rubbish, but this is by far the most interesting podcast on my list. I listen to it on my way to work to preach to people about rubbish…thanks for providing me with the content I need!!

As a copywriter who’s worked on big campaigns for composting and recycling, I know how difficult it is to make rubbish interesting enough for people to care about. But James and Robbie have done it. They know their stuff but they make the topic engaging and even funny. Their explanations are clear and simple to understand. Before long, you start changing your behaviour and noticing what you’re buying and throwing away. A superb show.

I started listening to this Podcast recently after seeing a mention about it on social media and have now worked through all the episodes to date. As a bit of a self-confessed recycling geek I have found it a brilliant way of adding to my knowledge, challenging some generally accepted practices and helping me make some further changes to packaging choices etc. James and Robbie’s easy going banter make it a fun podcast to listen to, breaking down potentially incomprehensible scientific details into easy to understand formats and featuring very interesting guests. I’m thoroughly looking forward to all the future episodes!

Drop in on fun chats with these guys and their guests. They’re entertaining and you will undoubtedly learn useful stuff along the way. Plenty of laughter. Definitely not stuffy.
